The Mekong River passes through 6 countries and is the 12th longest river in the world. On this river cruise you will start your river cruise in Siem Reap travel through the Tonle Sap Lake and connect to the Mekong at Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Your cruise is 7 days with your final day a land transfer to the popular Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam.

Sailing along with the Mekong has ever felt so luxurious on a ship of modern architecture including full length windows in the 20 spacious and air conditioned suites. Itinerary

Day 1 - August 21, 2020


Meet in Siem Reap

The Mekong River does not pass through Siem Reap, so this gives us the opportunity to take a 45 min air conditioned bus ride through the Cambodian countryside. Upon arrival at Tonle Sap Lake, you will check in and explore the features of the 3 story ship that will be home for the next 7 days.

Day 2 - August 22, 2020


Explore Tonle Sap Lake

The Tonle Sap Lake is a freshwater lake with many habitats. The first stop today will be at Prek Toal at the Bird Reserve. This is 22,000 hectares and a refuge for large waterbirds such as the spot-billed pelican, milky stork, black-headed ibis and the elusive masked finfoot.

Onboard you will enjoy a full inclusive lunch menu of local flavours. After lunch your ship will continue to sail down the lake where you will visit the floating village of Moat Khla. Here you can participate in a Buddhist blessing ceremony.

Day 3 - August 23, 2020


Leave Tonle Sap Lake

Before departing Tonle Sap Lake explore the remote villages along the river that connects the lake to the Mekong. These villages are UNESCO protected as it was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1997.

Your ship will continue to sail along the Tonle Sap river which will connect you with the Mekong River.

Day 4 - August 24, 2020


Continue onto Koh Oknha Tey

Along the Tonle Sap River is Koh Chen. This village is known for its many high quality silversmiths. Many of the products here, especially the silver bowls, are chosen by Cambodian royalty as gifts for visiting dignitaries.

Our next stop will be along the river will be at the 'Silk Islands'. Here you have the option to bike, instead of taking tuk tuks, around the village and observe the weavers using their looms to create beautiful silk fabrics.

Day 5 - August 25, 2020


Phnom Penh

Today we sail into Phnom Penh and use local tuk tuks to explore Cambodia's captial. Places of interest will include the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum of Cambodia. Optional additional places of interest are also available for those willing to explore further.

Day 6 - August 26, 2020


Enter Vietnam

During our morning sailing we will enter Vietnam!

Upon arriving at Tan Chau we will explore via local rickshaw. Alternatively you can take a bike and ride the 18kms around the island of Long Khanh.

After your lunch onboard your ship, we will sail to My An Hung where we will walk through the plantations of fresh fruit.

Day 7 - August 27, 2020


Binh Thanh

Our exploration of local craftmanship is not over. Along the Mekong today we will stop to observe the art of Mat Weaving. Then continue on to see the fisherman on their long tail boats.

Day 8 - August 28, 2020


Dock at My Tho

Docking today at My Tho we disembark the ship we have called home for 7 days and board an air-conditioned bus. The exploration is not over. On our drive to Ho Chi Minh city, we stop in at Vinh Trang Pagoda and enjoy sightseeing in the Vietnam countryside.
