I slowly walked or shall I say shuffled up the Marangu route to the top of Kilimanjaro. I must say I did feel light headed and wondered what am I doing climbing in the dark through snow with a headache. However, like giving birth it was worth in when I got to the top as the sun was coming up.
My favorite holidays are where I’ve hiked, biked or paddled my way to a fabulous boutique hotel where upon arrival I enjoyed a cool vino and a delicious local snack. There’s nothing more satisfying than arriving stress-free in the daylight to the right hacienda, lodge or hotel.
