In April 2026, Hooked, the alcohol-free travel brand from the Personal Travel Management family, was invited to experience a sobercation in Cabo San Lucas at Bahia Hotel (@bahiacabohotel). And honestly, we weren't prepared for just how incredible an alcohol-free experience could be.
From the moment we arrived, Bahia Hotel went above and beyond for the alcohol-free traveler. The rooms were chic, uncluttered and incredibly comfortable. But as beautiful as the hotel was, it was the food and experiences that completely blew us away.
A Tasting Menu Where the Proof Wasn't Required
Our opening dinner at Bar Esquina (@baresquinacabo) was nothing short of spectacular. We were treated to a paired-to-perfection, proof not required tasting menu, and it completely changed the way we thought about alcohol-free dining. Every course was thoughtful, sophisticated and beautifully paired, proving that you absolutely do not need alcohol to create a truly elevated dining experience.
And then there was Sommelier Nizuniro Altamirano (@el_hijodebaco). Genius. Nizuniro creates his own alcohol-free spirits in-house, because apparently regular alcohol-free options simply aren't good enough for him. He is obsessed with flavour, balance and creating something that meets his own very high standards.
The result? An incredible evening that left us thinking, okay... THIS is what alcohol-free travel can look like.
Mixing It Up With a View
And it didn't end there. The following day, we headed out for a private mixology class overlooking one of Cabo's most iconic sights: the Cabo San Lucas Arch. We got to experiment with different flavours, fresh Mexican fruit juices and, of course, Nizuniro's homemade alcohol-free spirits.
This was not your average mocktail class. It was a lesson in flavour, learning how different ingredients work together and how to create something genuinely complex and delicious without needing alcohol. And yes... passionfruit is absolutely amazing.
So, what did I make? Housemade tequila, passionfruit, cardamom, Topo Chico and fresh basil. And I have to say... I was pretty proud of myself.
Nizuniro Altamirano is pure genius, and this was one of those experiences that reminded us exactly why Hooked exists.
Finally, we need to talk about whale watching.
When someone suggested whale watching, "full sensory" wasn't exactly what we had in mind. We pictured a big boat. Maybe 50+ people. Binoculars out. Everyone scanning the horizon. Maybe you see a whale. Maybe you don't.
That was NOT the case.
There were just 10 of us on the boat, riding the big waves and following a whale that seemed determined to put on a show. It must have jumped 100 times right in front of us. What started as simple smiles quickly turned into: "HOLY CRAP. IS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING?!"
My cheeks literally hurt from smiling.
This was one of those travel moments you can't plan for. You can't manufacture it. And you definitely can't capture the feeling in a photo. You just have to be there.
And this is exactly what "full sensory travel" is about: being completely present for the moment when something unexpectedly incredible happens right in front of you.
Trust the Locals
Our biggest takeaway? Trust the locals. Ask questions. Ask for recommendations. Be open to doing something a little differently.
Because sometimes the best experiences aren't found on a "Top 10 Things to Do in Cabo" list. Sometimes they're the experiences someone local tells you about, the ones that aren't overcrowded, overproduced or predictable.
And this one was unforgettable.
It's the same philosophy we bring to every trip at Personal Travel Management: real recommendations from people who know, and travel built around you.
Ending the Perfect Day
To top it all off, we finished the day with a five-star dining experience at Sur Cabo (@surcabo), with live music and our toes in the sand.
Good food. Great company. Live music. The ocean. And absolutely no need for alcohol.
Perfect day.
Cabo, We're Coming Back
Bahia Hotel is proof that you can have a top-shelf travel experience as an alcohol-free guest. And we are so excited to share it with you.
In February 2027, Hooked is heading back to Cabo, and this time, we're bringing our travelers with us. Together with Personal Travel Management, we're putting together an incredible Cabo adventure with an optional golf experience, and you can bet that the two experiences that blew us away will be part of it:
- The "Proof Not Required" paired tasting menu
- The private mixology class overlooking the Cabo Arch
This isn't about taking something away from your vacation. It's about adding more. More flavour. More connection. More adventure. More incredible experiences. And maybe a few more moments where you find yourself saying, "HOLY CRAP... is this actually happening?!"
Want in? Reach out to the team at Personal Travel Management and we'll save you a seat.
February 2027 can't come soon enough.
Hooked on Cabo. Hooked on adventure. Fully present. 100% alive.
