Canada's trip of a life time!

Departing mid July 2018!

Canadian Travel has been growing by leaps and bounds since Canada’s 150th birthday and all the events associated with its celebration in 2017. With this in mind, One Ocean Expeditions has put together an amazing package that gives you the opportunity to explore Canada like never before. When you return from this arctic and rail expedition, you will be able to cross off several Canadian destinations from your travel Bucket List!

The ultimate Canadian bucket list trip - Iqaluit to Nova Scotia to British Columbia!

One Ocean Expeditions is the world leader in Polar Expeditions. Philip Beck's experience with One Ocean Expeditions was an 11 day trip in August of 2017 from Resolute to Cambridge Bay and the journey was a dream come true. He is your polar travel expert.

Designed and offered only through One Ocean Expeditions, this 57-day adventure begins in Louisbourg, Nova Scotia and takes you by ship to Iqaluit - the capital city of Nunavut. There you will see the beautiful mountains and inlets of Labrador to discover its unique culture and history.

From Iqaluit, you will travel to Resolute in Baffin Island, the Jewel of the Arctic and the largest island in Canada, known for its tundra valleys and breathtaking ice-capped mountains. You will continue to travel via ship into the heart of the High Arctic, while taking in some spectacular views.

From Resolute, you will follow the pathways of Franklin’s expeditions to Cambridge Bay, located on the coast of Victoria Island in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. This is an ancestral area that has been inhabited for 4,000 years. It is here where you will be immersed in archaeological history such as Beechey Island and abandoned HBC posts. You will find plenty of polar bears, whales, caribou, muskoxen and more along the way with the guidance of historical and naturalist experts.

For the next part of your adventure, you will take a few flights. First, from Cambridge Bay to Edmonton where you will enjoy a cozy stay at the glamorous, four-star Fairmont McDonald hotel for one night. Then, you will take your second flight to Vancouver and spend two nights at the Fairmont Pacific Rim to rest up for the next part of this 57-day adventure – a 4,466km train ride on Via Rail’s “The Canadian.” Over the next four nights and three days, you will ride through, see beautiful waterfalls and experience a view of the world famous Rocky Mountains and the prairie fields.

After you disembark the train, you will stay in Jasper at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, situated right in the spectacular Jasper National Park. This national park is the largest in the Rockies and is part of UNESCO's Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site. Here you will see rare Canadian wildlife (including wolves, grizzly bears and moose), hit the trails for some hiking and see the world-famous Columbia Icefields – the only icefields in the world that are accessible by the road.

Up to here, you’ve had an amazing experience on your Canadian adventure, but it’s time to start the journey back east. From Jasper you will board “The Canadian” once again and glide on the train to the city of Toronto, where you will rest at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. From here you will embark on the Via Rail and travel to Montreal – the largest city in Quebec. You will enjoy a comfortable three-night stay at Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth. After your time in Montreal, you’ll take the train one last time for the final leg of this trip. Via Rail’s “The Ocean” travels 1,346km through to Halifax where you will spend your remaining two nights.

This truly is the trip of a lifetime. One where lasting memories of beautiful Canadian scenery and rich culture will resonate with you for years to come.
