Yoga anywhere, anytime!

Hurry up and wait, hurry up and line up!

This I’m afraid, is the reality of airports these days. Travelling can be incredibly stressful & frustrating.

Being an on-time to early person I’ve had to find ways to make the whole airport process more interesting. What do we all have in common at the airport? That’s right were all going somewhere and will all be stuck in a small cramped seat.

I started bringing a sarong with me to the gate area and laying on the ground to stretch and practice yoga poses. Two things started to happen:

#1 my kids bolted in embarrassment

#2 at least 2-3 strangers happily join me each time.

No one has time to stretch on the day we make the mad rush to the airport. We are running around getting that last email out, watering the plants, racing to the airport and then we have to wait for hours.

Stretching and chatting is far more fun, and good for your body than just sitting, avoiding eye contact and staring at your screen. I’ve met amazing people with my colorful sarong and it’s a great way to start your journey. Isn’t that what travel is all about meeting people and sharing stories?
